Kwesta defends Nasty C due to the brewing SAMA 23 Best music video of the year category saga

While the South African music awards are underway, controversy seems to be growing over these awards.

Social media reacted when  David Ngcobo , better known as Nasty C,
Got nominated in the Best Music video  of the year category,   the Rapper bagged a total of 6 Nominations ( including the best music video nominations.)

Nasty C recieved  two nods with two   videos that  were RELEASED  ON THE 17TH OF MARCH 2017.
social media and a few artists didnt get why he got nominated because

THE SAMA 23 GENERAL RULES STATE

THAT:

All music videos submitted for the 23rd Annual SA Music Awards in the category
“Best Music Video of the Year” must have been flighted by a television broadcaster in South Africa during the period 1st December 2015 to 31 st January 2017 ‘

Kwesta( who is also nominated for this year's samas) came into defence of nasty c saying "

Surely @theSAMAs will correct it but
#HandsOff @Nasty_CSA don't discredit him because of unscrupulous label heads.PLAY THE BALL NOT THE MAN" right after  A concerned fan was responding
To Riky Rick's tweet that reads

"Yaz, @KwestaDaKAR deserves to win ALL his categories at #SAMA23 . I pray the SAMAs arent for sale this year. We cant allow them to trick us.."

Nasty c got nominated in the best music video category even when  his two videos " dont do it & Good Girls "  were released late march 17  this year ( 2017). Based on the SAMA 23 rules, nasty c wasnt supposed to have been nominated  at the first place , simply because submissions were for Material released from 1st Dec 2015 ( opening date) till january 31 2017( closing date) .

Rules are rules and we should stick to them right ?

Nasty C explains his Female Artist of the Year category nomination

While Twitter points fingers at Mabala Noise,
Nasty C and his female alter ego have the
answer.
The South African Music Awards 23 (Samas)
held its nomination announcement ceremony
at the Destiny Exclusive Hotel in Kempton
Park on Thursday night and rapper NastyC
led the pack with six nominations.
He was nominated for Best Newcomer of the
Year, Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Album
of the Year and Best Rap Album, while his
videos Don’t Do It and Good Girls received
Best Music Video of the Year nominations.
However, Twitter thought the Samas had
robbed the poor rapper of another nomination,
and they are not taking any chances, in hopes
of avoiding the Babes Wodumo saga at the
Metros earlier this year.
According to Twitter, Nasty C’s debut album,
Bad Hair Extensions (the Samas spelled it as
‘Extentions’, which is wrong by the way), has
now been nominated in the Female Artist of
the Year category, along with Babes Wodumo
and Kelly Khumalo, to name a few.
According to Twitter, Mabala Noise is not
about to lose out on any award at the Samas,
so adding Nasty C was just a way of fighting
for its own.
